Character Info
Canon: Supernatural
Name: Dean Winchester
Canon Point: post season nine, episode five.
Appearance:
History: probably the best wiki history.
AU Aspect: The inuit spell Dean cast on himself in 9x05 was a little bit more permanent than either of the brothers were hoping (just call him Doctor Deanlittle) as are the side effects. Well, Kevin did only say 'probably wear off' after all. Also, the side effects are a bit more effective on top of this, so the urge to act on doggy compulsions are a bit stronger than we see in the episode - not so much that he's not himself anymore, but enough thathe plays fetch a lot more it's a little bit harder to ignore the impulses from the side effects than it seems to be in canon for him.
Personality: Linkies below.
Intrinsically, in the ways that are important, Dean is still Dean. He's just got a slightly puppy flavour to him. His behaviours could be described as a lot more impulsive (not that he was ever really Mr. Plan-Things-Through) than before and what with a range of stronger smells and sounds, his already fairly short attention span is almost non-existent unless the task is super important. The biggest distractions being food or throwing something in front of him - it's almost impossible to stop himself from going and getting it... and bringing it back. The other thing it does is make him more expressive, but not in ways he really notices - he's not going to be shouting his emotions from the rooftops anytime soon, but it's little things like the little whine in the back of his throat if something's particularly upsetting to him, his posture straightening and him perking up when he hears something (especially if it's pleasing or interesting), and probably the biggest way is that when stressed out to a large degree he gets an itch all over and can't seem to stop scratching except for brief periods of time until after he's calmed down unless he puts effort into stopping himself scratching. Some urges that the side effects give him - such as things like barking at the mailman or squirrels through the window, for example - are usually followed because he either doesn't realise he's doing it at the time or because, really, it's not all that important that he stops (also because it's distracted him from whatever he's doing at the time). There are other urges, which would definitely be weirder than those mentioned, for example sniffing butts and licking faces - that can be quelled much easier (and will never be admitted to ever) because he's more aware of them.
